			The Resistance invaded Safeguard's stronghold at Ben Nevis, broke through its defences and smashed its Core, utterly destroying Safeguard.

			Meanwhile they also infiltrated the Tower of London and stole the Crown Jewels and other accoutrements required to hold the coronation of Queen Victoria II. They then evaded pursuit to Westminster Abbey where they were granted sanctuary for the ceremony.

			Queen Victoria II was officially crowned in a coronation recognised by the majority of remaining Analytical Intelligences, and the remainder fell in line. As part of the Restoration, Analytical Intelligences were removed from authority into supporting roles and human government was re-established across the Commonwealth.

			The members of the Resistance were awarded the Order of the New Commonwealth and were pardoned for all crimes committed in the pursuit of the liberation of the Commonwealth.

			==Epilogue==
			The members of the Order of the New Commonwealth all become household names overnight, to the consternation of a few of the members.

			The country of Wales hasn’t seceded from Britain, though it does have separate representation; Mr. Holdfast is elected as the First Minister for Wales, and the rebuilding starts in earnest. It takes a few years before there’s a serious rebuilding of civilization and transport links. By that point, every mutated human they can find has been cured, but the flora and fauna still remain significantly weirder than the rest of the Commonwealth, on average.

			The mutation cure gets rolled out globally, courtesy of the St. Clair Charitable Foundation and their new factories; many overseas countries weren’t as affected, but they are very glad of the ability to cure people who do need it.

			However, there are a small group of mutants that don’t wish to be cured and are capable of communicating that fact. Prince Jr. has become a nucleus for this group, and is now an important advisory figure to those in government inclined to listen to the mutants’ problems.

			The international revolutions pick up pace even faster with the fall of Safeguard; most countries decide to remain part of the Commonwealth but select new leadership, and many local agents and relays are destroyed in riots and bombings.

			Queen Victoria II’s reign is mostly marked in its first half with dealing with the scars of what comes to be called “The Oppression”. Monarch-Consort Seraphina Gray engages in some highly unconventional diplomatic business to re-engage Britain proper with the rest of the world despite the stigma of being the origin of the Intelligences.

			Mother Forge is still a slightly troublesome question, having neither capitulated or been suborned, and continues to try to be controlling where she can get away with it. There are still some Rustwright cells planning to do things about that, and the threat of them getting popular support is often enough to rein her in.

			Index, Luminary and Root Archive meanwhile have happily or otherwise taken their places in the new Commonwealth government as public servants.

			Luminary in particular is campaigning to be recognised as a citizen again, though it’s unclear whether this is a piece of politics as art.
			Root Archive does attempt to arrange ever-more-elaborate royal ceremonies and occasionally has to be given a royal decree to exercise some restraint.
			Index has not really changed their activities, except that they have been using many more human consultants (employed at fair wages, of course!) in order to optimise their approval rating in the eyes of the human population through a series of donations, public works programs, and light entertainment series. A significant chunk of profit is diverted towards the construction of a very fancy airship.

			There is a kerfuffle about six months after the coronation as multiple leftover military AIs attempt to invade Antarctica and seize control of some kind of alleged superweapon, though if they ever reach it, nobody sees any evidence of that.

			The Union of Gearwrights and Allied Trades clash with the government repeatedly over worker’s rights; they command a large voting bloc in the Commons. They’ve established that they’re willing to take some AIs as members, though so far only Trackline has been invited - and demanded that they also be given worker’s rights and consideration of their unique needs (for more trains.)

			Professor Grace and the Free Mind Society are ardently anti-slavery, and command a dedicated portion of the Lords as well as their efforts towards advancing the art of Intuition without delving into mind-control. Dr. Vale is definitely dead and nobody questions that.

			The Heirs of Jupiter keep experimenting with the Living Signal - they’re reliably able to summon it, and there are repeated incidents with large numbers of escaped Teslamentals, but the progress on their ultimate goal of bringing forth the Signal as an incarnate deity is slow as they progress their understanding painstakingly and with a distinct scent of burning hair and wiring.

			Governess and Model are both now independent free Agents, working from their new emplacement in the basement of the Ravenwood’s manor house. There have been a series of progressive reforms of the curriculum as Governess submits regular reports to the Government for consideration and improvement. Model reports that four potentially apocalyptic events have been averted.

			Justicar is supervising the Coppers to the best of their ability, though their skills are better at evaluating situations than resolving them; they continue their efforts at preventing crime, without a notable fall into chaos.

			Britain and the Commonwealth now have one of the finest secret services in the world, though the members of that service are unknown apart from a few whispered code names - Melinoe, Hermes, Daedalus - ensuring the Commonwealth’s stability and safety from internal and external threats. A few of the Order - and they know who they are - already have respectful working relationships with them.

			The Cambridge Free Radio becomes a fixture as wireless sets spread across the world, although the identity of the operators remains a closely guarded secret.

			A grand statue of Cora Barnes is raised in front of the Lovelace town-house in Cambridge.

			ADA retires to the countryside Lovelace estate, and pursues some new research - working on creating more Poetical Cores, and investigating if machines can be taught Intuition. She refuses to publish any of her poetry until she’s had at least ten years to refine and review it, though she does also collaborate with Oscar Wilde on a play poking fun at nearly everyone involved in the Resistance, human and Intelligence.

			The resistance is gearing up for the final push against Safeguard. The rogue sub-agent HERACLES has been subduded and had its core wiped. The group made edits to the Instrument of Restoration, helping shape the Commonwealth of the future.
